More great news from My Backyard Baseball. Now you can chose the difficulty level of play for a game. Pony league is the easiest league play followed by Minor League then Major League play. There are less options available to Pony and Minor League play, thus making it easier to navigate and play. Also the game engine is refined to be less sophisticated in Pony and Minor League play. All 3 levels of play require you to Acquire information, Analyze information and Apply strategic decisions in order to win the game. If you are unsure of what difficulty level to play, try Minor League play to start. It's not too easy and not too difficult.

Now you can play according to your schedule. Would you like to play a 4, 7, or 9 inning game?
A 4 inning game runs about 25-35 minutes. A 7 inning game runs about 45-55 minutes. A 9 inning game runs about 60-70 minutes.
These times are of course approximates. The amount of hits, walks, errors, and runs will effect game times.
A numOfInningGame inning game has been set.

MY_TITLE is a baseball gaming simulator. It is not a video game but a strategic game of decision making. The game itself is controlled by your decisions and the games strategic algorithms, machine-driven representations for a plan of action. The coach has influence over the game's direction such as being able to call pitches and choose strategies for ballplayers to execute. However for each action, a player's individual statistical skills are matched against a pitcher’s statistical skills. The ensuing game logic and algorithms determine the outcome. Beware, the computer is trained to logically and intuitively challenge you at your every move.
When you are pitching, the batter presents with a count already set. You're allowed one pitch per batter, make it a good one. Just like in a major league game, you have 15/20 seconds (new rules) to pitch (but we've made it setTimeNum1 seconds to help you adapt to the system).
You are playing against the computer, Manager Gill. You manage your team (the HOME team) while Manager Gill's visitor team pitches automatically and manages against you.

Pitching: In MY_TITLE, all pitchers have pitching effectiveness. It is chosen randomly by the computer when you choose teams and pitchers. 1. Exceptional Day — almost “unstoppable” until they get tired or injured. 2. On Day — pitcher is likely to be effective and stable until they get tired or injured. 3. Off Day — pitcher is likely to get shelled.
High pitch count — Eventually will affect pitching effectiveness Pitcher fatigue - affects pitching effectiveness immediately. Can happen at anytime Pitcher finger blister - affects effectiveness immediately. Approximately 10% occurrence Pitcher twisted ankle - Eventually affects pitching effectiveness. Approximately 10% occurrence Pitcher elbow soreness - affects pitching effectiveness immediately. Approximately 10% chance it happens
MY_TITLE
Pitching: How many different pitches do pitchers generally throw?
Most pitchers throw 3 or 4 pitches. 2 different fastballs and then 2 offspeed pitches. Examples are a 2 seam and a 4 seam fastball, cut fastball, and a screwball are examples of pitches thrown with velocity. And then a slider, curveball, change up, forkball are examples of offspeed pitches.
Often, a starting pitcher is subject to a pitch count, the manager will remove him from the game once he has thrown a specific number of pitches. The most common pitch count for a modern pitcher is about 100, and it is now rare for a starting pitcher to throw more than 125 pitches in a game.
MY_TITLE
Pitching: Dominant pitchers almost never actually have bad games. They lose sometimes, because sometimes they run up against another pitcher having an equally good day, and sometimes they give up a few runs because they may be pitching against a good team in a good hitter's park or something.
MY_TITLE
Pitching: A no-hitter is a rare accomplishment for a pitcher or pitching staff—only 314 have been thrown in MLB history since 1876, an average of about two per year. During baseball's modern era, 21 pitchers have thrown perfect games. Most were accomplished major leaguers. Seven have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame: Cy Young, Addie Joss, Jim Bunning, Sandy Koufax, Catfish Hunter, Randy Johnson, and Roy Halladay.
MY_TITLE
Batting: Players/batters have similar strengths and weaknesses concerning their skills and their ability to hit a variety for pitches. Ratings for batters are usually expressed as either very good/excellent, fair/good, and poor. These ratings refer to a batters ability to hit a fast ball, curve-ball, slider, cutter, change-up, sinker, etc. The game's algorithm determines who wins the battle between pitcher and batter. The strongest will generally prevail.
Batter effectiveness: 1. Nothing to affect effectiveness to date. Will change in the future 2. Slumps are in the works

By selecting "Auto Timed" there will be no significant breaks or delays in the game. All windows and pop-ups are automatically timed and play faster. It can be more difficult to manage and make decisions as the game is moving faster. If you want the game to play faster, choose this option.
By selecting "Manual Timed" there will be 1 or 2 breaks in the game. All windows and pop-ups aren't timed. Manual intervention is required to continue the game. This option is easiest to manage with.

It's a no-hitter! According to our data, only 5 no-hitters (3 years) have occurred in MY_TITLE. Jim Palmer, Catfish Hunter, Bob Gibson, Tom Seaver, Mickey Lolich. Welcome to the club!
A no-hitter is a rare accomplishment for a pitcher or pitching staff—only 314 (2022) have been thrown in MLB history since 1876, an average of about two per year.
The following is a short evaluation of the simulation you just completed. Please answer each question honestly and fairly. Your comments are important to us and will help improve the program.
Instructions: Make your selection by clicking the corresponding button. Once your selection is made it is automatically entered and takes you to the next question. You may go back and change answers.
